BBC3’s Me and My New Brain

I’ve been looking for the full documentary that BBC3 made on TBIs which featured me, but I only can seem to find this quick snippet.

Whilst in recovery I was approached by film and documentary maker Graeme McAuley, to take part in a series about Traumatic Brain Injury in young people called Me and My New Brain for BBC3. It was an exciting opportunity not only to be part of something that educated people on how I was feeling whilst going through recovery, but also to understand how TBI can affect anyone at any time. It would also give me an opportunity to meet survivors of TBI as I was in the company of those still in recovery.

The process took over 10 months to complete and was aired after my discharge. It is an amazing reminder of the journey I’ve been through. My friends had commented that although they were there in the process they too had forgotten how far I’ve come.

I have made some amazing friends from being part of this. Protagonist Charlie Elmore has even invited me to Switzerland! I would love to share the full story and series if it becomes available online so watch this space!
